Like Sue - I've been talking to the young adults in my house who are using some of the tools, I could not see that Podcasting would have many applications from a library user perspective but Lucy & Rose tell me that they could listen to lectures in a podcast form/or podcasted lectures [ I can't get my head around the correct terminology!!] so I can see there might be some applications for training purposes. I don't know if any of the junior doctors would/could listen to podcasts, I imagine the current medical students might be using them now.
I haven't made any progress on Blogging assignment 1 yet, but have worked how to organise my RSS feeds into folders and move them around! Which felt like a major achievment at the time.
I'm on holiday next week so will have to catch up when I get back.

Podcasting
Hi all - I need to read about things first, can't change old habits I'm afraid! I found an article on the wish knowledge workers wiki about Weblogs, which has a reference to an article by Eugene Barsky on weblogs & podcasting, which is brief & quite useful. I don't have an Ipod or an MP3 player, [don't like wearing earphones] but the rest of the family do. I can see the appeal of downloading podcasts of favourite radio programs or whatever. I can't forsee that we would have sufficient material to produce a podcast but can imagine that there are podcasts that could be used as a verbal current awareness tool. The article refers to two specialised search engines for podcasts which I'll have a look at next.

Learning log
I've saved my learning log with one entry for the url of my blog! This bit feels more familiar as it's similar to the Folio courses I've done. I think I need to use another aggregator for my RSS feeds, as I prefer to get email alerts when something is added. I'm not yet in the habit of going into Bloglines to check, but probably need to add some more feeds.
I found the conference call useful in that I was aware other people are feeling that they are working outside their comfort zone as well.

Gwen's first 3cs blog posting
I'm amazed to have got this far with only minor hiccups! Feeling daunted by the prospect of learning new things every week for the next few months, but pleased to have managed to get my blog up & running.
